Substance use disorder has swept our nation in rising and staggering numbers over the past few decades. But it is a topic broached in hushed tones, behind closed doors and with the cloud of embarrassment. In reality, substance use disorder is a disease, and the largest health epidemic our country has faced pre-COVID. Working with the DOJ, we wanted to create a safe space for people to share the stories that would bring substance use disorder out of the shadows, and help families and victims affected begin to heal.
#StoriesOverStigma is a social activation that allows people in recovery and family members who have lost a loved one to share their stories and change the conversation.
